March 2021 Dividend Income

The first quarter of the year has already flown by, Spring is here, and markets have been reaching all time highs with the S&P 500 just closing above 4,000 for the first time. The index is now up almost 100% over the last five years.

Stimulus & Printer 500 – 5 Yr Chart

It’s anyone’s guess on how much longer this can last before inflation and interest rates become a factor again, but for now the party is going on strong. šŸŽ‰ šŸŽ° šŸ–Ø

It will be interesting this earnings season to see what company outlooks are after all that happened last year. Though it’s hard to tell exactly how much expected earnings beats are priced in from last year’s numbers.

While the portfolio has benefited especially during this past month, with valuations still high I’m taking last month’s gains with a grain of salt. Would like to see some of these forward earnings take effect.

The dividends for this month were at an all-time record which is always nice to see.

Not much is new on the buying side. Picked up a few shares of MSFT, RKT, and index funds. Noticed the financial services and tech sector allocations are still pretty low for the portfolio so have been looking to remedy that this year. Financial freedom awaits.

  1. Looks like a great month. It’s always nice to set a new ATH and you’ve got some nice diversification in your dividend payers. I’m hoping to cull down the number of my holdings to get more concentrated in my positions. We didn’t quite have a new ATH for monthly dividends, but I expect that the quarter end months should start making new highs the rest of the year with a pretty good shot of pulling in $1,200+ for each of the quarter end months. Keep up the good work!

    1. Nice, Quarter end months of 1200+ are impressive, only compounds faster from there! Iā€™m in the same boat of trying to concentrate positions, but keep ending up adding to watchlist every weekend.
