August 2021 Dividend Income & Recent Buys

Can’t believe it is September already. Where does the time go! Fall is right around the corner.

The S&P 500 continued its usual 2-3% monthly gain, with the mid month dip being bought up in the next day or two as is tradition.

I’ve become accustomed to stocks only going up and feel people may panic if there is ever a sustained downturn again.

Good news, bad news, doesn’t seem to matter for this market. Too much cash floating around for it to go down again I guess.

Below is the dividend income received during August: (Values are in USD)

AB* – 20.38

ABBV – 58.50

ABT – 4.50

ACN – 13.20

ALLY – 15.00

APD – 18.00

CAT – 26.64

CLX – 32.48

CVS – 25.00

GIS – 63.75

KKR – 3.63

LOW – 16.00

NWN – 28.80

O – 10.60

PG – 17.40

T* – 60.59

Back to positive YoY divvy growth. Feels good man.

Recent Buys:

Ehh, not much here again. Just picked up the usual index funds in the company 401k account. The cash and bond positions across the accounts are currently 20%, but would like this to be closer to 0-5% eventually. Ready for some buying.

Portfolio Top 13 Holdings:

There was some movement here for the second month with this category.

  • Target Corp (TGT)
  • American Wtr Wks Co Inc (AWK)
  • Microsoft Corp (MSFT)
  • Church & Dwight Co Inc (CHD)
  • Johnson & Johnson (JNJ)
  • Waste Management Inc (WM)
  • PayPal Holdings Inc (PYPL)
  • General Mills (GIS)
  • PepsiCo Inc (PEP)
  • Walmart Inc (WMT)
  • Thermo Fisher Scientific (TMO)
  • Discover Financial Services (DFS)
  • Accenture Plc (ACN)

PYPL and GIS flipped spots, with DFS dropping a position and ABBV falling out of the top 13 from close to a 10% daily drop. The new name is ACN that naturally jumped into the list taking advantage of other positions poor performance.

Have a great month – the journey to financial freedom continues.

  1. Solid $400 month for you. And that’s some good nearly 15% YoY growth. Love most of those Top 13 holdings and really hope to get to add WM into my own portfolio.

    1. Thanks JC much appreciated. Yeah with the top 13 names being so overvalued I’d prob sell some of them if I didn’t have to pay so much in taxes on the gainz. WM is a favorite for sure but expensive.

Also as info, I’ve been unable to leave a comment on your blog, maybe just a WordPress glitch on my end though!

      Cheers
